ionionescu Posted March 18, 2012 Report Share Posted March 18, 2012 Andrew, I don't know what happened with him post-war, usually all the generals were arrested, maybe this was also his fate, maybe not. He died in 1946, this means that he „escaped” a very long prison sentence like all the other Romanian generals, guilty or not they all were sentenced to 15, 20, 25 years to life in prison. He wears a M1927 gala uniform (grenade on buttons suggests: infantry), rank of Sublocotenent. Cap is M1930.The type of aiguillette he wears is typical of gendarmes (white) or border guards (green).
