Portrait of a Locotenent-colonel with numerous Royal awards and Soviet medal

Recommended Posts

I like this photo! :) The name on the back is: Ion Buția or Ion Butta, can't tell for sure.

The two insignias are Insigna de Ofițer Brevetat de Stat Major and Insigna Cercetași în Războiul 1916-19 (Scout Badge in the 1916-19 War).

The patch on his sleeve is the ”M1920 ski specialist badge”, his collar patches and aiguillette means he served with the General Staff (Stat Major). The insignia on the shoulder board is a stylized V and M and means Vânători de Munte (mountain troops).
