KARLnf
KARLnf
Kgl. Sächs. Schützen (Füsilier)-Regiment Prinz Georg Nr. 108.
Freiwillige
FAR43
Hello!Unfortunately there was no Reserve and no Landwehr regiment 108.The regimental history 108 shows a list of awards. No Köhler with that rank in that period.I assume, it´s not 108, but 106. That would explain the missing horn and the regular saxon buckle.Check the ribbons:http://www.worldmedals.co.uk/Rib/germrib.htmhttps://ordensmuseum.de/adl/bander.htm
Freiwillige
Andreas, it seems field grey shoulder straps for IR106 personnel should have been like this, not number "106", am I right?
FAR43
Hi Andrew!Yes. My fault. I didn´t want to say Inf.Rgt.106, but Res.Rgt.106. Instead of the 108, the regiment 106 had a Reserve and a Landwehr Regiment!
Freiwillige
So here we have an Unteroffizier of Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr.106 then!
FAR43
I´m not sure. What do the others see on the shoulder strap?
Freiwillige
I see 106 or 108, but the latter cannot be due to the absence of RIR108 and different buckle. Even if Unteroffizier Kohler did wear standard Saxon buckle due to the shortage of specific ones for IR108 (I assume that could be), shoulder straps advice us this was not IR108. So the only version seems to be RIR106.
