Драгун из Лейб-драгунского полка (2-го Великого Герцогства Гессенского) № 24, входившего в состав XVIII Армейского корпуса и квартировавшегося в г.Дармштадт.

На погонах хорошо виден погон, введенный 06.12.1896 г.: увенчанный короной вензель полкового шефа Императора Российского Николая II, вышитый красной нитью на белом поле.

Hi Andrew!

Hard to say. What have we got?

A mounted soldier. He has spurs. Dragoon had a Degen (sword), this man has a sabre. Are you able to show a close-up of upper part of the sabre


In a book writen before 1890 stands: Train: Bügelsäbel of the artillerie. That´s would be N°23. I don´t know, when it was changed into N°13.

The picture below is from 1900

N° 13: Train-sabre

N° 23: Artillerie-sabre

So I would say: Train-Btl.10 until 1900.
